Susan Patterson
Susan Patterson just finished her fourth year coaching with Static. Her last two 18's teams earned a bid to the USA Volleyball Junior National Tournament. She is a veteran coach of over 38 years, and has been involved in this game for 50 years, either as a player, coach, and official. After playing throughout her school and college career and receiving numerous recognition's (including being selected to the Academic Volleyball All American Team in college), Susan has spent much of her life promoting the game she loves.
“Coach P” has coached at all levels of the game from elementary through high school ages, including both public school and club settings. In the public school setting, Susan has been involved in programs, either as the assistant or head coach, that have earned 13 district titles, with two final four appearances. At the club level, she has had the privilege of coaching all levels with a high level of success, having won the Mid-East Qualifier and placing 9th, 5th, and 3rd at JO Nationals. Susan is currently involved in the Missouri Youth Sports League (MYSL), which is a youth development program (grades 3-8) based out of Allison Sports Town in Springfield, MO, and she also leads volleyball camps in the summer. Susan officiates at both the high school level and club tournaments. Susan also serves on the MSHSAA leadership team for the sport of volleyball. Her knowledge of the game and its rules and strategies are a key asset to her coaching, but her greatest strength is in her teaching of the game and its fundamentals to players. She has a great passion for the game and does much to develop the sport in our area. |
